Hymn 1

CHRIST IS OUR CORNERSTONE

Untitled Document.md

  1. Christ is our cornerstone,
    On Him alone we build.
    With His true saints alone
    The courts of heav’n are filled.
    On His great love our hopes we place
    Of present grace and joys above.

  2. Oh, then with hymns of praise
    These hallow’d courts shall ring.
    Our voices we will raise,
    The Three-in-One to sing,
    And thus proclaim in joyful song
    Both loud and long that glorious name.

  3. Here may we gain from heav’n
    The grace which we implore,
    And may that grace, once giv’n,
    Be with us evermore,
    Until that day when all the blest
    To endless rest are called away!

  4. Praise to the God of heav’n;
    Sing praise to Christ the Son;
    The Spirit, praise be giv’n,
    Who joins them both as one:
    The holy Dove, who gives us grace
    To find our place in God’s great love!

Hymn 2

HIGHER GROUND

Untitled Document.md

  1. I’m pressing on the upward way,
    New heights I’m gaining every day;
    Still praying as I’m onward bound,
    Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.

    Refrain:
    Lord, lift me up,
    And let me stand
    By faith, on heaven’s tableland;
    A higher plane
    Than I have found,
    Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.

  2. My heart has no desire to stay
    Where doubts arise and fears dismay;
    Though some may dwell where these abound,
    My prayer, my aim, is higher ground.
    [Refrain]

  3. I want to live above the world,
    Though Satan’s darts at me are hurled;
    For faith has caught a joyful sound,
    The song of saints on higher ground. [Refrain]

  4. I want to scale the utmost height,
    And catch a gleam of glory bright;
    But still I’ll pray till heav’n I’ve found,
    “Lord, lead me on to higher ground.”
    [Refrain]
